What would be the consequences if both multi-million dollar auto manufacturers cut their production in half? Both are asking for another 16 million dollars because they are afraid they will not be able to recover their losses with the $13 million already received.
No one is bailing me out of my debt incurred by revolving credit cards, student loans, and medical bills. And if I don’t pay my bills, guess what, my credit score will decrease and I’ll be unable to get future loans, or worse I’ll be turned into debt collections. There needs to be consequences for these manufacturers who squandered their profits and took advantage of their workers’ benefits. With a bailout, there are little consequences and the people working on the assembly line are not the ones who should suffer.
I personally think the auto industry should cut its production especially those vehicles that cost the consumer and the environment. For example, all Hummers should be eliminated for consumers. These vehicles were designed to be driven by our armed forces over rugged land, not on paved roadways. These modern tanks should not be used for hauling families to and from sporting events or even for our police force, but reinforced with armor to protect our sons and daughters; mothers and fathers; brothers and sisters serving abroad and training here in the States.
What do you think?
