Received from a colleague in Lancaster, Virginia, I made this Christmas treat in honor of George Washington and Presidents’ Day.
Cherries in the Snow
Ingredients:
2 Pkgs cream cheese (softened)
2 tubs of whipped topping (thawed)
2-3 C. confectioners sugar (more or less to sweeten)
2 cans of cherry pie filling (or frozen)
1 Angel Food cake (or white cake)
Directions:
1. Mix the cream cheese and whipped topping together
2. Add confectioner’s sugar (I only added 1/2 cup)
3. Slice cake into thin slices and place in bottom or round, square or rectangular dish
4. Spread cheese & whipped topping over cake
5. Spoon cherries over topping
6. Repeat layers until reach top of dish.
Chill at least an hour and serve.
