First Timer at PodCamp Pittsburgh – PCPGH3

I am currently in Pittsburgh attending the PodCast Camp3 or PCPGH3 as a first timer. I am new to the terms Podcasting, Twitter, analytics and so forth. So what better way to learn and apply what I’ve learned, than to attend a PodCast Camp?

So, after a day of workshops with 2 main rules or laws (2 feet law and get involved) this is what I’ve learned:

Podcast – like a radio broadcast online, but not as often; mostly voice driven, rather than video. Can be downloaded and used on Web sites and blogs.

Twitter – kind of like a more advanced text message to more than one person. Seems like most people use it on their cellphones. I don’t have that kind of phone or interest to follow conversations that often though.

Analytics – use software and tools to monitor what, what and how often people are going on your Website and/or blog.

More WordPress tutorials, so more people will find me and my blogs!

Podcamp is held across the US and around the world throughout the year. PodCamp Ohio will be held in Columbus on June 20, 2009. Check out more locations for PodCamps here.

One Response to First Timer at PodCamp Pittsburgh – PCPGH3

Well, I am glad I read this blog. Now I know what a Podcast is. Of course, I’ve heard the heard or seen it numerous times on Websites, thought you needed something like an IPod to download the Podcast, well, maybe you do? I do think the past decade has brought more technology than I recall in the past 25 years.
I barely keep up. Now I do listen to Internet radio, get some news and a lot of information from the Iinternet. I feel like I have to turn my computer on every night when I get home to check email, see what’s on my Google page, pay a couple of bills online, and check my bank account online. Since I am an information freak, I love researching stuff on the Internet, but I know I am far from being a “techy”. I still like to listen to the radio (the one that’s part of the stereo set my daughter, the author of this blog, had when she was a teenager!) and watch PBS, Boston Legal and Grey’s Anatomy. I also still read books, periodicals, etc. Wish I was a speed reader, I would like to be able to devour words and RETAIN them!! That’s getting a little harder lately!!! Getting older, you know, not OLD, just older. Anyway, I will leave the Podcasts, iPods, cell phones that do everything, but make my coffee to the younger generation——- at least for now.
