I want to laud a few places in my area for maintaining low cost on food or offering groceries in bulk. I have returned to the Buckeye state for opportunity and be closer to my family; however, I am also making half the salary that I was in Virginia. I am not happy about the financial situation, but I am adjusting and my son and I are much happier emotionally.
So here are the places that I found that do not hurt my checkbook or bank account:
Marc’s for groceries and miscellaneous items (like a mini Target)
Aldi Foods for frozen and non perishable items, and also has the least expensive milk prices
Romano’s Farmer’s Market which is open all year and offers the best prices and best variety on fresh produce as well as the lowest prices on fresh breads and low fat deli meats
Dollar General – yes, a national store, but I still shop there for dog food and treats, toiletries, paper goods, special occasion cards and sometimes food items.
Thank you for keeping your prices low and allowing consumers the least amount of frills so we can save money each week to spend on our other bills and costs.
Also – support the bee keepers of North America. Without honey bees our food supply will diminish and the human population will be extinct as well after a couple years. If you have an adequate space to keep bees and are able to transport them so they can pollinate, please contact your agriculture department – we need honey bees to survive.
